Kite’s network is made up of university students, professors, community leaders and local stakeholders engaging in solutions to local development issues. We will work collaboratively alongside a team in Lima, Peru who will also be developing community projects in their city to discuss opportunities, challenges and solutions, and how these apply to both cities.

The Lima Team

We are in the process of building a team in Lima, Peru that will implement projects on a similar scale to our own and will be linked to Kite Vancouver by mutually prevalent issues.

We are looking for students who are interested in starting an organization that responds to the same mission as Kite, who have creative answers to community development problems, and who have the drive to implement these solutions. Once we have found a few key members of the Lima team, we will leave it to them to expand their team and build their organization’s goals.

Throughout this process we will be promoting collaboration but also providing the freedom for the team to develop in a way that is most relevant to their situation. Through this, we hope to work against the distinction between ‘developing’ and ‘developed’ countries and instead show how ideas are worth sharing no matter where they come from.

Sponsors, Donors and Community Partners

As we grow, we will be building our network of sponsors, donors and community members. We have already received grants from UBC and have been in conversation with multiple community stakeholders to widen our perspective and to increase our chances of success.
